BOTOX®, Dysport®, Xeomin® and other botulinum based products are commonly injected into the upper face, especially in the glabellar region where staring at a computer screen or even reading can cause vertical lines known as “11s.” Glabellar lines often start simply as a “1” and eventually can deepen and multiply over time. Other commonly treated areas are the dynamic lines around both eyes known as “Crow’s feet.” These areas one of the first signs of aging. Patients may not notice Crow’s feet forming since we usually do not smile at ourselves when looking in the mirror. The Crow’s feet are one of the easiest and most satisfying areas to treat.
Dr. Dolev also uses BOTOX® and Dysport® at higher doses to treat medical disorders including migraines, Temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD), and hyperhidrosis. BOTOX® and Dysport® also show promise in treating major depression. In fact, many patients report feeling happier after being treated in the glabellar area.
Deeper lines on the face can also be associated with volume loss over time and cause skin creases or folds. Dr. Dolev uses many different types of facial fillers determined by location and desired outcome to lift the skin from behind, restore volume, and soften creases and lines. As we age, our faces become more of an inverted triangle due to factors such as the sun and genetics. Often, very subtle placement of filler in the mid face or along the cheekbones can lead to lift and restoration.
